The Muslim Women’s Council hosted a grand interfaith evening with Amina Sultani & Shabnam Khan on Friday 3rd January 2020, attended by over 200 guests.

Quran Reciter, Nasheed, Naat Artist & Sufi Singer Amina Sultani performed devotional recitation & Sufiyana Qalaam along with noted artist Shabnam Khan, for the first time at the stunning Bradford Cathedral. Food and refreshments were provided by MyLahores & Aziz Catering.

Bana Gora, CEO of Muslim Women's Council says: “The evening was spiritually uplifting and a true example of interfaith harmony. It was wonderful to see different faith communities coming together, and we look forward to hosting future events at this historic, beautiful venue."

The Very Revd Jerry Lepine, Dean of Bradford says: “The cathedral was pleased to host the Muslim Women’s Council this month. Sounds for the Soul was an amazing way to start 2020 at Bradford Cathedral with an event filled with such beautiful music, poetry and song that was a credit to the hard work of the Muslim Women’s Council and all the incredible work they do in the city and further afield. Through interfaith events, we can help highlight the power of working together in a unique city like Bradford and we look forward to more events and partnerships like this as we start this new decade. This is precisely the kind of working together that tells a story of co-operation and community connection, at a time when the nation is looking for healing.”

Rt Revd Dr Toby Howarth, Bishop of Bradford, says: "The MWC Sounds for the Soul event at Bradford Cathedral was simply extraordinary. Quality, energy, joy, respect - this kind of event is the Muslim Women’s Council and, more widely, Bradford at its best.”
