MWC launches Bereavement Support Service For Women

The Muslim Women’s Council is launching a bereavement support service for women, on Thursday 13th February from 10am to 12pm.

Dealing with grief and loss can be very lonely and extremely challenging. Come along & meet others, share experiences and chat in a confidential, safe space.

The session is for women only, and will be facilitated by a bereavement support practitioner at Carlisle Business Centre, 60 Carlisle Road, Bradford BD8 8BD.

Nicola Clarke, Bereavement Support Practitioner at Child Bereavement UK says “Our vision is for all families to have the support they need to rebuild their lives, when a child grieves or when a child dies.  Our mission is to ensure the accessibility of high-quality child bereavement support and information to all families and professionals by increasing our reach and plugging the gaps that exist in bereavement support and training across the country, and embedding standards in the sector. This is a wonderful opportunity to be working closely with the Muslim Women’s Council and reach more families that need bereavement support.”

Bana Gora (CEO, Muslim Women’s Council) says “It is important to provide a safe space to support those dealing with grief, and we hope this is the start of a useful initiative for the community.  We are grateful to Nicola at Child Bereavement UK for her support and advice”.
