CC

The Muslim Women’s Council hosted their annual Christmas party for Curry Circle service users on Thursday 19th December at the Carlisle Business Centre, coinciding with their 6 year anniversary.  It was a resounding success with over 180 service users, faith representatives, volunteers and business owners coming together to celebrate.  The Christmas meal, provided by MyLahore, was sponsored by international aid & development charity Islamic Relief. The Deputy Lord Mayor Councillor Shabir Hussain was also in attendance, helping to hand out raffle prizes to the service users with Asghar Ali from MyLahore. Soul singer Janet Jaye performed lively musical entertainment throughout the event, including her Diana Ross tribute act.

Bana Gora (CEO, Muslim Women’s Council) says

The party was a great way for service users to celebrate our six-year anniversary with us.  We would like to thank all our volunteers and supporters, especially our catering partner MyLahore and Islamic Relief for sponsoring the meal.

The Curry Circle is an initiative that provides a hot two-course meal for people who are homeless or struggling to feed themselves.  Since its launch in December 2013 the Curry Circle has provided over 40,000 meals.
