Muslim Women's Council Statement on Gaza

The attacks committed by Israel on Gaza have reached the level of genocide. This massive destruction of innocent life must be stopped immediately. Indiscriminate military killing is a form of state terrorism that cannot be callously justified as self-defence. The military targeting of hospitals, schools, churches, mosques and other infrastructure is not collateral damage but a war crime. This is intended to break the Palestinian people, which is against international law. The Muslim Women’s Council and its members are highly concerned that the withholding of food, water, fuel and life-saving medicine is further compounding the humanitarian crisis.

British politicians must act responsibly and advocate for the immediate cessation of Israeli military aggression on Gaza. We call upon all politicians and leaders from all faiths and none to exert all effort in the face of the unprecedented health crisis to ensure humanitarian needs are provided, water and electricity restored, and aid workers permitted entry. We also call upon all ordinary citizens to advocate for the urgent provision of humanitarian aid. We must all stand unified and work collectively to advocate at all levels for the immediate stop to this genocide.
