Stanford University offers its first course on addressing Islamophobia

CSRE 30: Interrogating Islamophobia is a newly introduced Stanford course attempting to spark a discussion about Islamophobia on campus.

Abiya Ahmed, the Markaz Resource Center Associate Dean and Director, will teach the course. According to Ahmed, the course seeks to broaden students' grasp of how Islamophobia arises. He said:

I could throw statistics at you and say ‘last year X number of Islamophobic acts or hate crimes or whatever occurred,’ but part of what we’re trying to do in the course is trying to expand how we understand Islamophobia.
