Around a dozen Muslim women, including Hijabis, attended a self-defense class held by the Islamic Center of Aurora Colorado.
The event was held at the Islamic Center of Aurora Colorado to empower women in the face of anti-Muslim prejudice, threats against women, and criminal activity. Aurora police officers, including a Muslim officer, talked to the participants about how to protect themselves in dangerous situations.
Officers distributed brochures with general safety advice to the women, and they adapted the presentation particularly to Muslim women.
