Fiz Ahmed’s Retirement Party

Fiz Ahmed’s Retirement Party

Bradford gave a fond farewell to their favourite female police officer PC Firzana Ahmed, who has served in West Yorkshire Police Force over the last 30 years.

Muslim Women’s Council hosted a celebration of Fiz’s remarkable achievements during her time in the Police Force. Many tributes were paid to Fiz for the work she has done and the impact this has made on many communities in Bradford.

The event was attended by lots of colleagues and friends of Fiz – many of whom made personal tributes to her at the event. Inspector Kevin Taylor said ‘It’s been a pleasure and exceptional learning experience to have had the honour to serve alongside Fiz, she is truly an inspiration and will be very much missed by all of us. Khuda Hafiz (May God protect you)’.

Michelle Taylor, People Can Coordinator at Bradford Council, made a heartfelt tribute to Fiz, saying:

Fiz, you have always been an inspiration and you really changed my views and perceptions of the police when I first met you. I hope the legacy you leave in Bradford lives on.

Bana Gora, CEO of Muslim Women’s Council, said:

Fiz has always been a ‘force’ to be reckoned with- providing much needed support and advice to communities.

She also commended Fiz on her participation in a cancer awareness event inspiring women to become more aware and get tested, all whilst she was undergoing cancer treatment herself. Fiz made a successful recovery and went on to receive the Queens Police Medal for her service in the Police force, at the end of last year.
