Muslim Women’s Council (MWC) proudly marked the opening of its new office on Saturday, 9 August 2025, at 3–7 Saltaire Road, BD18 3HH. This milestone represents a significant step forward in the Council’s mission to empower women, foster community cohesion, and create safe, inclusive spaces for dialogue and collaboration.
The event brought together community members, supporters, and partners to preview the newly established hub in the heart of Saltaire. Guests had the opportunity to explore the new premises, meet the MWC team, and learn more about upcoming initiatives aimed at addressing the needs of women and families across Bradford and beyond.
The Rt Revd Dr Toby Howarth, Bishop of Bradford said, “It was a joy to be part of the official opening of the new Muslim Women's Council office. This is an important step in the journey of the MWC in their multifaceted, creative and entrepreneurial work which contributes so much to Bradford and beyond. I hope that this new office encourages others to partner with MWC in the further development of this space”.
The CEO of Muslim Women’s Council, Bana Gora, expressed excitement about the move:
“Our new Saltaire office is more than just a workplace – it’s a beacon for positive change, understanding, and empowerment. We’re looking forward to welcoming even more people into this space as we continue our work to build bridges and strengthen our communities.”
The new location will serve as a base for the Council’s expanding range of services, programmes, and advocacy efforts, while also offering a welcoming venue for workshops, training, and networking opportunities.
The opening was a prelude to a grand opening planned for next year, which will celebrate the full launch of MWC’s operations in Saltaire and unveil additional community-focused initiatives including a women’s cooperative café.
