Muslim Women’s Council Condemns Brutal Attack and Stands in Solidarity with Sikh Community

We are deeply shocked and horrified by the recent rape of a young Sikh girl. This appalling act of violence is not only an abhorrent violation of her dignity and humanity, but also a painful reminder of the ways in which racism, misogyny, and power intersect to harm the most vulnerable in our society.

The Muslim Women’s Council stands firmly in solidarity with our Sikh sisters and brothers at this devastating time. Gender-based violence is never acceptable, and when compounded by racial or religious prejudice, it becomes an even more insidious form of injustice that threatens the safety and cohesion of all communities.

We unequivocally condemn this act and call for urgent justice, accountability, and systemic change to ensure such violence is not tolerated or dismissed. Our solidarity is not symbolic—it is rooted in our shared struggle against patriarchy, racism, and all forms of hatred.

To our Sikh sisters: we see you, we stand with you, and we will continue to fight alongside you to ensure that no woman or girl is made to suffer in silence. Violence against one of us is violence against us all.
