Muslim Women’s Council CEO, Bana Gora, has issued a powerful message from Al Quds in the early hours of Saturday morning, as missiles were heard overhead following reported strikes in the region. The UK-based delegation was in Jerusalem as part of a spiritual and educational visit when the escalation unfolded.
“We came on a spiritual journey but now face the fear Palestinians endure daily. Please keep them, and our group, in your prayers,” Gora said in a video recorded near the Dome of the Rock.
The incident, which has resulted in widespread flight cancellations and the closure of Israeli airspace, has left the delegation temporarily grounded in the city. Gora has called on the UK government to take urgent steps to ensure the safe return of all members of the group.
“After witnessing this firsthand, we are calling for an immediate ceasefire and the protection of all civilians,” she added.
Jerusalem, sacred to Islam, Christianity, and Judaism, continues to serve as a focal point for understanding the region’s complex history, diverse communities and ongoing struggles. The Muslim Women’s Council emphasised that this visit has deepened their commitment to peace, justice, and interfaith understanding.
