A restaurant manager was fired for removing the Hijab of a Muslim employee

American restaurant chain fired an assistant manager for removing the Hijab of a Muslim employee.

According to the employee, the assistant manager demanded that she shows her hair on several occasions. Last month he asked her again to show her hair and she once again refused.

After her refusal, the assistant manager allegedly "proceeded to forcibly pull the employee's hijab off."

A representative for the company said on Monday that the assistant manager was fired in mid-August.

The top manager emphasised that the company has a zero-tolerance policy for discrimination of any kind.
