Bana Gora, MWC Chief Executive receives the Bradford College Honorary Fellow Award

Bana Gora, Muslim Women's Council Chief Executive received Honorary Fellowship from Bradford College, which is the highest honour that the college can give to recognise someone's service or support to the college, city or district of Bradford.

The 2022 Honorary Fellow Awards were named at Bradford College's graduation ceremony. The Awards, which were founded in 1933, are offered to inspirational persons who have contributed significantly to their fields, the College, or the City of Bradford.

Bana received this award for campaigning for and supporting women’s rights for over twenty years through charitable and not-for-profit sectors. In 2019, Bana was announced as one of the top 25 women shaping Britain’s future by Vogue, alongside names such as Naomi Campbell, The Duchess of Sussex, and Phoebe Waller-Bridge. In 2021 Bana became the first Muslim woman to receive the Peacemaker Award.
