On Saturday 14th September a group of Curry Circle volunteers and sponsors took part in a sponsored walk in order to raise money for the Curry Circle, an initiative that provides a clean environment and hot two-course meal for the vulnerable and less fortunate people in our community.
Since its launch in December 2013 the Curry Circle has already provided over 30,000 meals to some of Bradford’s most vulnerable individuals. We get support on surplus food from Tesco PLC, Lidl, Yaadgaar Bakeries, and Regal Foods.
Parvaze Ghani, the Curry Circle Manager, said “We had an amazing day walking around Malham Cove with family and friends. It felt extra special knowing it was a fundraiser for our Curry Circle project and funds collected will go a long way in sustaining this vital service the Muslim Women Council provide in Manningham. Well done to everyone who took part and contributed.”
Tazeem Ashraf, a first time climber and Curry Circle volunteer, said “it was a great experience and you could feel the team spirit throughout the day. We got to enjoy amazing weather and beautiful, picturesque scenery. I thoroughly enjoyed the walk, although it was challenging at times. I’m looking forward to the next on!
